TIP recently welcomed Lynne Jackson to the team, a new Regional Vice President, with more than 25 years of executive benefits experience. She lives in North Carolina and will serve the Pacific Northwest, Mid-Atlantic, Carolinas and Florida.
Read more about Lynne’s background, and why we’re excited to have her on the team here.
Q. Welcome to TIP, Lynne. With this new gig, what are you most excited about?
A. I am very excited with the idea of having multiple carriers and products available. This will allow me to be consultative and put together customized plans to meet the needs of each client I am working with, regardless of the unique variables involved.
Q. Where are you from and what areas will you be working in?
A. I lived in Portland, Oregon for most of my life and love the Pacific Northwest and my network up there. About a year ago I moved to North Carolina to be closer to family and have enjoyed getting to know brokers in the Carolinas and surrounding area.
I’m looking forward to serving employee benefit consulting firms across the country, particularly in the Pacific Northwest, Mid-Atlantic, Carolinas and Florida.
Q. What opportunities do you see?
A. Individual Disability Insurance (IDI) is a niche market and one in which the majority of brokers have not been able to specialize in.
While brokers have taken on more and more responsibilities for their clients and Plan Administrators have continued to do more with less, there is a large opportunity to bring the specialization of IDI to a broker by being a trusted extension of their team and providing the level of expertise required when addressing the needs of an organization’s most key employees.
Q. What have been some of your biggest successes for clients?
A. Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work with many hospitals and medical clinics. I have enjoyed getting to be a direct contact for thousands of physicians and have found success in this market.
During my tenure at Unum, I was honored to be selected by the leadership team to be on the inaugural Unum IDI Advisory Board.
Q. Why are you passionate about what you do?
A. I believe in Individual Disability Insurance and what it provides. It is a critical piece of any financial plan; it protects your greatest asset, which is your income and also provides peace of mind and security.
I have always strived in the workplace to be a trustworthy expert in the individual disability insurance field.
Q. What strengths are you bringing to TIP?
A. I am very detail oriented, organized and am a hard worker. I like getting “into the weeds” when it comes to designing an Individual Disability Insurance plan.
I enjoy people and professional relationship building is important to me.
Q. Why do you want clients to succeed?
A. Success begets success.
Helping others hit their goals provides a source of happiness to me. I feel it is important to surround yourself with like-minded people who are looking to create a positive atmosphere of idea sharing where everyone is striving for achievement.
Q. What are you passionate about outside of work?
A. I am passionate about my 2 daughters, Haley (22) and Madison (19) and all they do. I love to travel, both within the U.S. and internationally. I have been a life-long competitive tennis player and now find happiness on the Pickleball court.
Q. What’s different about TIP?
A. They have an incredible reputation, one I have been hearing about for years. They seem to seek out highly competent employees who have a desire to contribute toward the entire company’s success of being the best of the best in the space they are in.
