Keith Johnson, New EVP of Distribution, to shine light on the limitations of Group Long Term Disability plans

Keith Johnson, New EVP of Distribution, to shine light on the limitations of Group Long Term Disability plans

From day one, TIP has been committed to helping Brokers and Benefits Managers identify areas where their key employees are under protected , especially when it comes to income replacement.

Our goal is to deliver life, disability, and long-term care insurance solutions through unparalleled commitment and expertise.

One key area of focus is to identify and fill coverage gaps inherent in most Group Long Term Disability plans (which can sometimes cost an individual up to 75% of his/her pre-disability income) and to make a difference for as many families as possible before disability impacts their lives AND lifestyles. When someone can’t work for an extended period of time and the coverage they have through work is significantly less than they expected, the impact can be devastating.

That’s one of the many reasons we’re thrilled to welcome Keith Johnson to the team.

As EVP of Distribution, Keith will help us hire new team members, grow into new markets, and build upon our 10+ years of success – so we can be an even greater resource for an even broader audience.

“My enthusiasm for this opportunity is sky high. This is an area in the benefits business that has enormous upside primarily because solving the unique needs of key employees is underserved right now,” Keith explains.

Beyond enthusiasm (which we love), Keith will bring a proven ability to hit goals and recruit and develop talent. He draws on 30+ years in the Insurance and Benefits business, including:

  • Six years at Guardian – Keith was the #1 Regional Director for the last two years (as measured by total premium and percent of goal). He also rebuilt and developed one of Guardian’s top performing regional teams.

  • Nine years at Aetna – Keith was the #1 Region Head and recruited and developed several of Aetna’s top performing Account Executives.

  • Four years at Mass Mutual and 15 at Unum Life Insurance Company with similarly impressive results.

Keith graduated from Rockhurst University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1986. He has been a Chiefs season ticket holder for 20 years and a fan since he was a kid.

Keith is in this business because he’s passionate about it. He says, “Over the years, I’ve seen too many situations where inadequate protection puts families in a position where they can’t maintain their standard of living due to death or disability. However, when I am able to help that family maintain their lifestyle with an adequate amount of life or disability insurance – that is why I do this.”
